What to do when your sink won’t drain.
One of the more common calls we receive at Val Betti plumbing is for clogged bathroom sink drains. Typically the sink gets slower and slower over time. There are a few things you can try as a home owner. They are listed from easy to more difficult.
1. You can try plunging the sink with a plunger. (If your sink has a overflow hole you will need to plug it off with a wet rag)
2. You can remove the pop up and clean any hair that might have built up.
3. You can remove the p-trap and snake the drain line.
We do not suggest any chemical drain cleaners, because they can cause damage to the drain line especially on older houses with metal drain pipes.
